All About Zack
Zack had his first day of Third Grade today! He was very excited to start the new year. We had gone shopping on Saturday and I told him to go to the boy's section and pick out a shirt. He picked out the shirt he is wearing in this picture. If you know Zack you know that he HATES to wear anything with a collar so the fact that he picked this out just shows how excited he was about his first day. He wanted to look his best even if it meant wearing the kind of shirt he hates. Last night I asked Zack what he wanted to be when he grows up. When I have asked this question before he has said a teacher so I was interested to see what he would say this time. He said he didn't know...then he said maybe a professional basketball or baseball player. He said he didn't want to be a fireman because that would be too hard!
He had a great day at school today and when we asked him what his favorite part of the day was, he said he got to be the bathroom monitor. It is so funny how the simplest thing for us means the world to kids!

The Last Game of the Season
So tonight was the last game of the season for Zack and Lily. They both made wonderful plays! Lily caught the ball and threw it to first and Zack had two amazing hits! I don't know who was more excited about the hits Zack or TJ! Both of the kids got their trophies and were really excited about them.

Happy Birthday Tommy!!
The boys had a lot of fun playing ball outside and Lily showed everyone how well she can ride her bike. It is really cute to see how much Zack looks up to his Uncle Steve. He stayed right by his side and was his little mini-me all night!

Beach Bums--Ocean Lakes
This past week we went to Ocean Lakes for a family vacation. I hadn't been in about 12 years and was sooo excited to go back. It was a blast!! There was so much for the kids to do and having my parents there made it even better. We missed having Justin there, but hopefully we can find a week next summer that he can go with us.
We went to the beach everyday and the kids enjoyed all the activities. They went to camp 2 mornings and participated in crafts and games. I think that was their favorite part because they got to meet new friends.
Zack and TJ really enjoyed playing basketball by the ocean.
Zack got to play in a putt-putt tournament and had a couple of holes in one!!
Lily loved the park that was right next to the beach.
One day on the beach the kids decided to bury us in the sand. That was interesting!!
We got photo bombed at the pool!
Both Zack and Lily loved cruising on the golf cart at night and giving everybody high fives, unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of that!!
Baseball and T-Ball
Zack and Lily have been playing baseball and T-ball with the YMCA. It is Lily's first year playing T-ball and it is hilarious! Bless those that decide to coach T-ball. 4 and 5 year olds do not have the attention span to wait for the ball to come to them. The kids play in the grass and run to the side asking their parents when snack is. Lily is doing a great job and her favorite part is hitting!
Zack is playing coach pitch baseball. He has played T-ball before but this is the first year he has played coach pitch. He is playing short stop and doing a great job! The ball comes to him often so it keeps his attention. He gets a HUGE grin on his face whenever he catches the ball and throws it to get someone out!
It's a Girl!!
Like I said before, TJ and I have a little one on the way. On July 12 we went to the doctor for the anatomy ultrasound. I was VERY excited. My parents decided to go with us and share in the excitement. We had the doctor put the gender picture in an envelope so we wouldn't find out until the party. The next day Kelsey, Jan, and Steve threw us a gender reveal party. We had invited all of our immediate family and a few of our closest friends. Here are some pictures from the party.
Kelsey had made a confetti ball and the kids were going to pull a string to see what we were having. Zack and Lily pulled the string and out fell pink!!! We are having a little girl!
Lily was jumping up and down and Zack was smiling. After things had calmed down his first question was, "Who put that in there!"
The Parrish Life
I have seen many family blogs and love all of them so I decided it was time to create my own! TJ and I have a little one on the way and with Zack and Lily I know we will have tons of pictures and stories to share.
